Turn search feedback into a clearer direction.
I analyzed user feedback about search and refinement, then used prototype testing and synthesis to shape provider-search requirements and experience direction.
People needed better ways to find and narrow results.
I reviewed a broader ForeSee feedback set and selected 128 comments relevant to search, filtering, sorting, and refinement. The comments came from Find a Doctor and other site-search and content experiences.
Across those comments, people described needs that existing search and filters did not reliably support.
Search by city, office, proximity, or a specific hospital; move across hospital boundaries when needed.
Find a physician based on a specialty or the condition being treated.
Know whether a provider accepts new patients or can be contacted directly.
Combine filters, keep relevant matches, and recover from empty results, language-filter failures, or poor spelling matches.
Find the recurring needs
I synthesized the feedback into recurring search and refinement needs rather than treating each comment as an isolated request for a specific control.
Connect needs to the experience
The themes pointed to practical requirements around location, hospital, specialty, condition, provider availability, identity, and recovery from poor search results.
Test the experience direction
I led provider-search research and design, using prototype testing and synthesis to shape requirements and experience direction.
Make the research useful to the team
I translated user needs into a clearer basis for discussing the search experience with product and technology partners.
A research-backed foundation for provider-search decisions.
This work connected a broad user-feedback set to focused search needs, prototype testing, synthesized requirements, and experience direction. It gave the team concrete user problems to use when discussing how provider search should work.
